Last year was my first time in Amsterdam, and it was absolutely magical—the unique architecture, the vibrant culture, and the warmth of the people captured my heart. I visited in February, during the off-season, and even then, the city’s charm was undeniable. This time, we’ll experience Amsterdam during the shoulder season, a perfect moment when the city buzzes with life but isn’t too crowded. I can’t wait to share this special experience with you!

Amsterdam to Lake Como -
A Storybook Journey through Europe:
Our adventure begins in Amsterdam, where, if you add on the optional pre-nights in Amsterdam, you’ll spend two nights soaking in the city’s rich history and vibrant culture. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be captivated by the neat rows of canal houses, charming streets, and incredible museums. Whether it’s your first visit or a return trip like mine, Amsterdam’s magic will surely enchant you.
- Day 1: Arrive in Amsterdam and check into your hotel. Explore the city at leisure, or relax and enjoy the local vibe.
- Day 2: Take a guided walking tour of Amsterdam’s iconic landmarks. The city’s combination of historic charm and modern energy makes it unforgettable.
- Day 3: Before boarding our luxurious river cruise ship, we’ll visit Zaanse Schans, known for its classic windmills and traditional Dutch crafts—an absolute delight for history lovers and photographers alike!
Cruise Highlights:
Germany’s Enchanting Villages and Castles From Amsterdam, we’ll sail along the romantic Rhine River, uncovering the hidden gems of Germany. Explore Cologne’s magnificent cathedral, sip local Kölsch beer, and wander through the charming streets of Rüdesheim, where centuries-old traditions come to life. The scenery along the way is spectacular, with castles perched high above the riverbanks, creating a landscape straight out of a fairytale.
- Day 4: Enjoy a canal cruise in Amsterdam before setting sail towards Cologne, Germany.
- Day 5: In Cologne, choose from a walking tour, a cathedral architecture tour, or an invigorating bike ride through this historic city.
- Day 6: As we cruise the Rhine Gorge, marvel at the castles that dot the landscape. In Rüdesheim, choose from a gondola ride with wine tasting or a guided hike through vineyards.
The Romantic Heart of Germany and France’s Alsace Region Continue to Heidelberg, where the mix of medieval architecture and lively student culture creates a vibrant atmosphere. Cross into France’s Alsace region, where cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses, and rich culinary traditions will make you feel like you’ve stepped into a storybook.
- Day 7: Explore Heidelberg’s grand castle or hike along the Philosopher’s Path for panoramic views of the city.
- Day 8: In Strasbourg, known as “The Gem of Alsace,” you’ll enjoy a guided walking tour or a bike ride through the picturesque city, blending the best of French and German influences.
Switzerland’s Cultural Hubs and Italy’s Lake Como Bliss Our cruise culminates in Basel, Switzerland, a city brimming with art, history, and stunning views of the Swiss Alps. From here, we’ll go to Italy’s Lake Como, with a scenic stop in Bellinzona. Picture yourself surrounded by the enchanting autumn colors of the Alps—if we’re lucky, we’ll witness this breathtaking transition firsthand.
- Day 9: In Basel, explore the city or take an optional tour to Lucerne for more Swiss splendor.
- Day 10: After disembarking, we’ll transfer to Lake Como, where you can settle into your hotel and unwind in Italy’s most glamorous setting.
- Day 11: Take a walking tour of Lake Como to discover its charm, including the quaint streets and stunning villas.
- Day 12: Experience a private boat excursion to Bellagio, often called the “Pearl of Lake Como,” where beauty and luxury meet in perfect harmony.
- Day 13: Conclude your adventure with a final morning in Lake Como before your return flight home.
